The first thing Jesus gave the Twelve when He sent them out was power. Yet power is the one thing many Christians lack. The reason for that is because they dont understand the connection between authority and power. If you truly want to walk in power, then you must first learn to walk in and under authority. ''POWER'' in this passage is not dunamis, but the Greek word exousia, meaning ability, privilege, force, capacity, competency, freedom, mastery, delegated influence, authority, jurisdiction, strength. *

Author Paula A. Price, in her book God's Apostle Revived, writes: ''Apostle exude authority. Active or dormant, their authority is difficult to disregard. lt is the first obvious distinguishing feature. Whatever the situation the apostle inevitably stands out. He unavoidably finds himself in charge or it is thrust upon him. He competently makes decisions and often casts the deciding vote. Apostle lead when they do not try to; are looked to and relied upon when others seek a strong hand. They command attention and provoke obedience because of God's blatant authority upon them. Extended involvement with an apostle puts you face to face with authority. *
